David completes LondonSurrey 100!

I managed to complete the Prudential LondonSurrey 100 (miles!) in a time of 5 hours and 20 mins – annoyingly 1 minute slower than last time.  I suspect leaving my first stop until the top of Box Hill (68 miles) wasn’t the best idea although I thought that if I got off then it might not be so easy to get back on again!  A really fantastic day though, cycling through London with no traffic or lights to worry about really was a very special experience.  Already thinking about the possibility of getting a Team Jackie team into next year’s race!LondonSurrey2 LondonSurrey3 LondonSurrey1

Research gives hope to early stage test

Scientists have developed an inexpensive test which they believe could be used to detect the early stages of pancreatic cancer.

The test checks for three proteins in the urine, and has so far proved to be more than 90% accurate.  This is potentially one of the most exciting developments in pancreatic cancer research to date, and gives great hope to Team Jackie that the funds that it is raising are genuinely making a difference.
