Team Jackie had the most amazing day at the Prudential LondonSurrey 100 on Sunday 31st July 2015. Our 14 ridders all finished in very good time, despite a number being delayed by some nasty accidents along the way – fortunately not involving any Team Jackie riders.
It was on closed roads, starting at the Olympic Park, riding into and through central London, out through Richmond Park to Hampton Court, into Surrey, and back to London through Kingston, Wimbledon and along the Chelsea embankment to finish along The Mall. 30,000 cyclists and not a single car, junction nor traffic light to worry about! It was a fairly flat and fast course – although they did stick Leith Hill and Box Hill in along the way!
Our tired bodies met in St. James Park afterwards and we did manage a few celebratory beers.
Our 14 riders raised over £15k which is incredible. Thank you all for the most monumental effort, both over the 100 miles, and in raising such a large amount of money. I hope you all enjoyed it – I certainly did.
